Aron Demon Johnson left this earthly life unexpectedly on February 4, 2026 in Colorado.

Aron lived as he worked hard and all in. He was generous with his time and driven by the genuine love for his work and the people surrounding him getting it done. He believed deeply in people, in organizing, and in the power of showing up for others and he lived those values every single day.

He was a super senior in the Edgecombe Community Early College Program and then moved on to join the UNC-G political platform where he found his place in the world. Throughout his career, Aron served on numerous campaigns across the United States,steadfastly working toward his vision of a more equitable democracy. His journey included service on the campaigns of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (2016), President Joe Biden (2024), Vice President Kamala Harris (2024), U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill (2018), and U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (2020). Most recently, Aron was serving as Campaign Manager for Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold. His passing is a significant loss to the political and civic community, and he will be remembered for his integrity, passion for public service, and unwavering dedication to strengthening democratic institutions. Aron lived with a dignity, integrity, and passion for human kind that was displayed in his every move both political and every day life.

Aron was survived by his mother Mary D. Johnson, Sister KaOra D. Johnson, Brother Dari M. Johnson. His Grandmother Ora J. Battle, Aunt Stephanie Johnson, and a special family friend which he looked up to as an uncle, Glendon E. Graham.

He was preceded by his aunt Wanda L. Johnson all of Rocky Mount, NC. And a host of cousins, family, and special friends.

The family sincerely would like to appreciate John Easterling, III and Brandon Combs, dedicated friends and confidants of Aron and his family since his many years of service in the Democratic party.
