Bennett Armstrong Barnes was born to the late Robert Julius and Mary Ruffin Barnes on March 31, 1930. He transitioned home on November 7,2020 at Heritage Retirement Center. Bennett worked in textile work until his health failed. He was a master gardenerand loved giving food to the elderly of the community. Bennett was preceded in death by three brothers, James Arthur, Richard, and Jessie Barnes.Three sisters, Margaret Reid Clark, Lucy Louise Mercer and Peggy Ann Jones.2 loving nieces, Mary Richardson, Phenix City Alabama, Carolyn Barnes Friday, Kinston, NC, Host of Nephews and Nieces, Great Nephews and Nieces, Great Great Nephews and nieces and a host of relatives and friends.

Final rites and professional arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Family Mortuary.
