Mr. Charlie Edward Avent Jr. age 70, transitioned on October 11, 2019 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.

The service of remembrance will take place 12Noon Friday, October 18, 2019. The service will be held at First Calvary Baptist Church, 825Beal Street, Rocky Mount, NC. Reverend Rodney Avent Sr. serves as pastor. Rev. W.R. Burston will deliver the eulogy.

Interment will follow at Pleasure Hill Church Cemetery, Whitakers, NC.

Visitation will be held on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

The final rites and professional arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Family Mortuary.
