Deacon William Henry "Boot" Newell, age 91, transitioned on April 26, 2025 at The Lodge at Rocky Mount.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 527 E. Thomas Street, Rocky Mount, NC.

Dr. James T. Worthy will deliver words of comfort to the family.

Interment will follow at Gardens of Gethsemane.

Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Final rites and professional arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Family Mortuary.
