Ms. Lela Lucas Durant, age 95, transitioned on April 15, 2022 at her residence.

Funeral Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Greater Joy Baptist Church, 820 Nashville Road, Rocky Mount, NC.

Bishop Shelton C. Daniel will deliver the eulogy.

Burial will follow at Gardens of Gethsemane.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Matthews Family Mortuary.

Final rites and professional arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Family Mortuary.
