Mr. Courtney James "Sugar Bear" Hunter, age 45, transitioned on July 27, 2026 at ECU Health North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Matthews Family Mortuary.

Pastor Audrey McCarter-Hedgepeth will deliver words of comfort to the family.

Interment will follow at Impact Pointe Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Final rites and professional arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Family Mortuary.
