Mrs. Sarah J. McDowell Armstrong, age 93, transitioned on May 28, 2026 at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, NC.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026 at The Church of the Open Door-Baptist, 132 S. Glendale Drive, Rocky Mount, NC.

Interment will follow at Northeastern Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Matthews Family Mortuary.

Final rites and professional arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Family Mortuary.
